A stucco wall leads us to the inside of the dwelling while also establishing a hierarchy in the plot, differentiating the public access from the more intimate and private area.
The dwelling consists of two rectangular prisms, one offset over the other and in correspondence with the two storeys. It is thus that we generated a porch on the ground floor, linked to the public area of the house and to the outdoor swimming pool; and filled the space with zenith light circulations. We embarked on the project with the purpose of boosting the visuals and that interior-exterior continuity.
On the ground floor, which is where the public area of the house is to be found, a calm, continuous dialogue takes place between the spaces it is composed of and the solarium and exterior garden. The project also places much emphasis on the stairway, which partitions the space on the ground floor and first floor, privatising the being of the rest, and leads us to a generous roof terrace. It accompanies the dining room on the ground floor and looks at it from the roof via a manifest double height. Likewise, the volume that closes this stairway breaks with the horizontality of the elevations.
On the top floor we can find the bedrooms. There are four of them, arranged into a hierarchy by the stairway. On one side, there is the main bedroom, while on the other side, we can see the other three. Mention should be made of the single space the main bedroom is composed of, only isolating the toilet.
Not a single architectural detail has been ignored by the purpose of emphasising the house’s horizontality. The materiality is revealed in the heaviness of the stone on the first floor, and the transparency and warmth of the wood and glass on the ground floor.
