REFURBISHMENT OF LA PETROLERA
Ca’n Salas, known as “La Petrolera”, a listed, iconic building, located on the seafront at the port of Portioxol, in El Molinar, Palma.
While still the typology of the existing building has been retained, there is now a triple space with zenith lighting, through which the new stairway passes, thus recovering its central function as a backbone. At the same time, the interior spaces have been emptied in order to boost the three bays of the building, which are thus opened in the direction of the maritime façade.
The ground floor plinth has been broken in the interests of access to the building via a pool that extends towards the outside, over which the new façade is reflected.
